Many of my clients have received a ‘diagnosis’ of “Adrenal Fatigue” and don’t know what to do or where to turn. I work extensively with in-depth testing to fully flesh out the balance and the signalling of both adrenal and sex hormones – and what your body is doing with each of them, their metabolites and the intricate relationship and cycling of all of these messengers.
Though I specialise in digestive health and immune conditions, adrenal health and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA Axis) is a fundamental element of overall wellbeing and the healing process.
In so many of my clients, HPA Axis dysregulation is part of their clinical picture and I don’t always specifically test for this if fatigue and general wellbeing are resolved as a matter of course for treatment. However, I am always mindful of the power of restoring adrenal health and balanced cortisol levels and am tweaking dietary intake to optimise adrenal wellbeing: from balancing carbohydrates/proteins/fats to ensuring blood sugar balance through tweaking meal timing.
